Geometry Lab is free to use and needs no account. This page explains what happens to data when you visit geometrylab.net.

What you enter

Calculator, solver, and worksheet inputs are processed in your browser. They are not sent to a Geometry Lab server.

Data saved on your device

Practice best scores are saved in your browser’s local storage so you can see them next time. They stay on your device and are removed when you clear your browser data. If you make a cookie choice, it is saved as cookieConsent for 180 days (see Cookie choices below). If you arrive from a school platform, local storage also keeps an “ad-free until” date for 30 days. It holds nothing else.

Usage statistics

We use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-9CCD0H600F) to count visits and see which pages are useful. Google Analytics uses cookies or similar identifiers and collects information such as the pages viewed, the referring site, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. We use this only to improve the site.

Advertising

Ads are served by Adsterra and its advertising partners. To show and measure ads, they may use cookies or similar identifiers and receive information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the page you are visiting. Their use of that data is covered by their own privacy policies. Ads load in clearly labeled spaces, and we do not use pop-ups or full-screen ads. Students who arrive from Google Classroom, Canvas, or Schoology, or through a Share to Google Classroom link from this site, see no ads at all on that device for 30 days.

Other services

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Our hosting provider processes standard access logs, such as IP address and requested page, to deliver and protect the site.

Cookie choices

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a small cookie banner. Until you choose, Google Analytics runs without cookies and no ads load. Accept allows analytics and advertising cookies; Reject keeps analytics cookie-free and shows no ads. Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage under cookieConsent for 180 days, and you can change it at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. Students who arrive from a school platform see no ads whatever they choose.

Your choices

• Use Cookie settings in the footer to accept or reject analytics and advertising cookies.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The calculators keep working without them.
• Use an ad or tracker blocker to stop ads and analytics from loading.
• Install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Clear your browser’s site data to remove saved practice scores.

Children

Geometry Lab is an educational site for students and teachers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the site has no sign-up or contact forms. The printable classroom activities and teacher pages collect nothing either: students complete worksheets on paper or in their teacher’s own assignment, so no student work or names reach this site.
